5 Tips for Healthy Radiant Skin

Having healthy radiant skin is all about leading a healthy lifestyle. If you desire that glow, you must be willing to commit to achieving that goal. That means you’ll have to eliminate junk food, smoking, drinking, and exercise deficiency from your daily life. Once you’ve made the decision to do so, follow these five tips to help you along your journey to clear skin.

Detoxify your body

By so doing, you’ll cleanse your blood of any impurities. Such toxins are eliminated through the liver, kidneys, intestines, lungs, lymph, and skin. This may not always occur, especially if these organs are not functioning effectively. To restore your system’s efficiency, it is imperative that you develop a detox regime. Drink warm lemon water on a daily basis. Lemon water contains vitamin C which is great at reducing the appearance of wrinkles and blemishes. Furthermore, it purifies the blood of toxins. Along with your lemon water detox, consume lots of water.

Use natural facial masks

There is a wide variety of facial masks you can make with ingredients from your kitchen. Mix ground almond, oats, honey, and yogurt. Apply the mixture to your face, and leave on for five to ten minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water. You can also use honey on its own. Apply the honey to your face; leave on for 20 minutes; and wash off with cold water. Other ingredients you can use for achieving healthy radiant skin are banana and milk. Combine crushed banana and milk to form a smooth paste. Apply to face; leave on for 20 minutes; and wash off with cold water. If you have oily skin, combine fresh grape juice, lemon, and egg white. Apply mixture to face; leave on for 15 minutes; and wash off with warm water.

Exfoliate your skin once or twice per week

Exfoliating your skin helps get rid of blemishes, red/dark marks, clogged pores, hyper-pigmentation, and dry skin. Use a body scrub. Massage it on your skin in a circular motion with a loofah or exfoliating gloves. Rinse your skin, and apply body lotion to retain moisture.

Consume and use antioxidants

Antioxidants fight against free radicals in your body. These can be found in foods rich in vitamins A, C, and E, and selenium. Such foods include carrots, squash, broccoli, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, kale, collards, cantaloupe, peaches, apples, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, dark, leafy greens, mangoes, nuts and seeds, whole grains, fish, shellfish, and red meat. In addition to consuming these antioxidant-rich foods, it’s equally essential that you moisturize your skin with antioxidants such as olive oil,  jojoba oil, pomegranate seed oil, and sunflower oil.

Exercise

Exercising regularly is one way of maintaining healthy radiant skin. When you exercise you increase the blood circulation in your body. This helps to nourish your skin cells as well as remove toxins from active cells. Furthermore, exercise serves as a means of relieving stress. Skin conditions such as acne and eczema have been linked to stress. Decreasing your levels of stress through exercise would allow you to achieve that glow.
